The Fundamentals of the Overt Approach
The following is written in a positive and literal style. If it seems otherwise, it’s because of driver interference. Watch out for valence and tone!
The Fundamentals of the Overt Approach
Hi everybody!
The Strategies of Overt Resistance Part Four is still underway and should be released by Saturday, unless there are any unexpected delays. I had a bit of a battle with drivers playing games while writing yesterday, but proceedings are safely back on course this morning. Hopefully all will go according to plan.
In the meantime return to Parts One to Three as often as you can. The better you understand the strategies, the better they’ll work for you.
I’ve included a quick refresher on the fundamentals of the prosocial and overt approach below. As long as your actions meet these six criteria, then you can be sure you’re doing things the right way.
The fundamentals of prosocial overt action:
- Open and literal speech.
- Authenticity and consistency in your position. (Choosing one side of the issue.)
- Taking action openly.
- Honest and direct methods, rather than deceptive or manipulative ones.
- Conscientious objection to abusive or damaging practises.
- A strong prosocial foundation. (A motivation to help human beings and stand up against injustices.)
I’m going to be a bit delayed getting to the Square today so I’ll be there from 2.30pm – 3.30pm instead. Sorry for the mix up!
Look after yourselves and never mind the driver bullshit. Stay strong!
